History

Lakeland Restoration Services, LLC (LRS) is a small north Idaho business. Dave Kluttz, Managing Member, holds a B.S. in Agronomy from California State University, and was previously in business for nearly 30 years in California as Providence Horticulture, Inc (PHI). Wanting to relocate to the Pacific Northwest to reside on property that he had purchased in 1996, Dave transferred PHI to his business partner. PHI conducts business in tree care, landscape weed management, and nursery stock.

LRS has been involved in aquatic and terrestrial weed control in the Inland Northwest for 10 years.

LRS’s customer base has doubled each year from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, LRS serviced 15 major customers including the State of Idaho, Washington, and California.

Lakeland Restoration Services, LLC is committed to early detection, rapid response, containment, and management of invasive species including Eurasian Watermilfoil.

Personnel

David L. Kluttz
Managing Member, Applicator

Dave oversees each phase of each project to insure accuracy/efficacy, safety, and efficiency. He has 14 years of experience in aquatic weed control, including both application and survey work in lakes, rivers, and delta systems. In addition, he has 17 years of experience in crop production, consultation, and diagnosis/treatment of landscape pest problems, including noxious weed eradication and environmental restoration. He is continually looking for innovative ways to improve the service level of the company and impact the industry in the areas of effective control and cost savings.


Steve McClain, Applicator and Mixer/Loader
Steve performs duties as a mixer/loader. He has 4 years of experience on aquatic and terrestrial projects (including applications and surveying). In addition, he brings a wealth of experience in the areas of computer science, maintaining and designing spray equipment, mechanical, machining, and electrical.

Dawn Petek, Systems Manager
Dawn is responsible for aspects of each project relating to technology (GPS & mapping); effective implementation of protocols, procedures, and policies; and inventory tracking. She has 20 years of experience in computer software applications and peripherals, database analysis, user support, documentation, report writing/design, process design, and project management. She has three years of experience in the industry relating to aquatic and terrestrial weed control.

Tim Petek, Equipment Operator, Mixer/Loader
Tim pilots one of the airboats, in addition to performing equipment maintenance and fabrication when needed. He has 13 years experience in Heavy Equipment Operation including performing tasks as Leadman for large projects relating to residential, commercial, and forestry excavation. He has three years of experience with aquatic and terrestrial application contracts.
